Witchfire Announced
From the Developer of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Witchfire is a dark fantasy first person shooter revealed at the 2017 Game Awards.
Although their previous project was a critically acclaimed narrative game, members of the team at Astronauts are no strangers to developing shooters. With the creative leads behind Painkiller and Bulletstorm, the change in direction isn't entirely new for the core team. In fact, part of the reason they call themselves Astronauts is to emphasize the journey to new places. They want to make a shooter unlike anything they've done before.
Witchfire uses photogrammetry tech that allows the developers to 3D scan real life objects to create assets in-game. This makes the game have a more organic feel.
Unfortunately, since the game is so early in development, there isn't much more the developers could say. According to Astronauts, “The game is nowhere near complete, it's going to be a long time before it's ready”.
The game will release on PC eventually.
