Fall Festival / Fundraiser October 17 - 18!
Fuck COVID.
It’s got us all in a weird kind of funk. It’s threatening to make everyone poor. It’s even become a political talking point.
It’s all the more important now than ever that we all show one another support during this whole thing.
That’s why when Mommy & Me Plaster Craft & Ceramics reached out and asked for help, we absolutely jumped on the opportunity!
Chelsea Griffin is the owner of Mommy & Me in Independence, Kentucky. Mommy & Me is a small, family business centered around getting people together and making memories through creativity and art! (Which is totally awesome!)

but… you know… COVID.
Of course, COVID-19 made things difficult for Chelsea to keep everything going while still trying to take care of her family and guarantee a somewhat stable income.
Ultimately, she decided that she wasn’t giving up just yet!
We don’t want to have to close our doors so we figured why not do something that can not only help us but help the community. - Chelsea Griffin
Chelsea got to organizing a community event designed to help a bunch of local small businesses and organizations get back on their feet!
The result?
A Fall Festival featuring a whole slew of vendors and activities!
Of course, More Than Friends will be there (and we’ve got some limited run More Than Friends curated boxes ready for the occasion too!) but, we couldn’t help but reach out to some of our (more than) friends and invite them along too!
Followers of More Than Friends will recall our partners at Ten Thousand Villages who provided the Sari flowers featured in the More Than Friends Box, as well as our friend Jacob Free from Free Time Wood Burning who provided the wood-burned coasters for the boxes. Well, both TTV AND Free Time Wood Burning will be at the event!
Naturally, we brought some more friends along too! We’ve invited locally-focused ETC Produce along (who will have some locally grown pumpkins available for purchase)

A friend of ours has a super fresh, absolutely brand-spankin’-new business that she’ll be debuting at the event!
Courtney Helterbridle will be selling her very own, hand-crafted, clay creations as Clay By Courtney!
And of course there will be a bunch of other businesses and food vendors on display too!
but wait
did I mention
that there will be
BOUNCE HOUSES!?
Well. Yeah. There will be bounce houses.
and to top it all off my absolutely amazing husband may or may not be making delicious cupcakes just for the event

Seriously though, this is gonna be a pretty cool thing and I would love to see your lovely (masked and socially distanced) faces at the event!
A portion of every dollar spent at the event goes directly towards helping Mommy & Me and other locally based small businesses dust off the dirt and stand tall after getting their asses kicked by COVID!
Seriously though, if not to help More Than Friends (and friends) in the very least you should go to support Mommy & Me. They’re a great business and the owner is a wonderful person! Plus, it’ll help MY MOM out too because this place had sort of become a bit of a special place for her before the pandemic! She would visit Mommy & Me to reconnect with old friends and that’s really priceless.
My mom loved attending special painting nights with her friends, and she would always come home with a new painting she was proud of and she’d hang it on the wall!
