Our Rating System Explained

Our Rating System Explained

When we review a game at MTF Gaming, we want to be sure that we're providing the necessary tools to our readers so they can decide whether or not a game is right for them. That's why, in addition to writing our individual thoughts on a game and its features, we include a special section at the bottom of EVERY review describing what kind of person a game may or may not appeal to.

At the bottom of every review is a section that looks a bit like this:

Consider playing this game if:

  • Reason 1
  • Reason 2
  • Reason 3

Consider skipping this game if:

  • Reason 1
  • Reason 2
  • Reason 3

We do this to better help our readers determine if a game would appeal to their individual tastes and interests.

In addition to the aforementioned section, we have a special rating system. When we designed our rating system, we asked ourselves what readers are looking for with a review. We knew that many readers wanted to decide whether a game would be right for them or not, which is why we implemented the bulleted list mentioned above, but that still didn't quickly answer the number one question a reader asks when looking at a review:

Is the game good?

We designed a pictorial rating system that quickly categorizes whether a game is generally good or not. There are 5 possible ratings, ranging from "Awful" to "Lovely". Below you can see each rating and what it means.

We hope our review system helps you find and play great games (or avoid wasting your money)! Please, keep in mind that you can comment directly on each individual review OR if you have any suggestions for a game you'd like reviewed, you can contact us at bemorethanfriends@gmail.com or by clicking the "contact" link at the top of this page.
